In the 51st minute, Tran Duc Hoan escaped his markers and struck a diagonal shot past Hue’s goalkeeper, Channa Phonesavath, a Laotian student, to level the score at 1–1.

The drama continued. In the 69th minute, Hue University was awarded a penalty after a foul. From the spot, Van Phap calmly beat the goalkeeper to restore a 2–1 lead for Hue.

Two Thuyloi University players — Nguyen Hoang Danh and Le Tien Duy — were named in the tournament’s Best XI

Thuyloi University once again equalized. In the 78th minute, Hue’s goalkeeper misjudged a high ball, allowing Quang Tien to head into an empty net, making it 2–2.

With the score tied after regulation time, the match went to a penalty shootout. There, goalkeeper Channa Phonesavath turned hero, saving two of Thuyloi’s spot kicks to give Hue a 4–1 win in the shootout, securing their first-ever Vietnam Youth and Student Football Championship title.
