About the Speaker
Dr. Lim obtained his MEng degree in environmental geotechnics and PhD degree in environmental engineering in 1995 and 1998, respectively, from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He worked as ground engineering specialist before joining NTU as a faculty member. His core research areas focus on water and soil pollution controls, field monitoring of contaminant movement in surface waters, land and surface runoff, studying fate of pollutants in natural and engineered environmental systems, and treatment of metals-bearing wastes such as incinerator ashes, smelter slags and sludges. He is author or significant co-author of more than 45 research articles in peer-reviewed journals, books, reports, and conference proceedings. His most recent appointments are chairing the Professional & Technology Development Program under Environmental Engineering Technical Committee, Institution of Engineers Singapore, and serving in the working group for development of the Singapore’s National Implementation Plan (NIP) under the Stockholm Convention on persistent organic pollutants (POPs).
