Plan to Organize TikTok Video Contest with the Theme “Love the Homeland – Celebrate National Day”

  1. Purpose & Significance
  • To celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the August Revolution (19/8/1945 – 19/8/2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (2/9/1945 – 2/9/2025).
  • To create a modern and creative playground for Thuyloi University staff, lecturers, students, and alumni, encouraging them to express their love for the homeland from a youthful and positive perspective.
  • To strengthen the Thuyloi community connection, especially in welcoming the incoming K67 cohort, and to promote the university’s image on digital platforms.
  1. Eligible Participants
  • Current and former staff, lecturers, and employees of the university.
  • Students of all training programs at the university.
  • Alumni and postgraduate students of all cohorts.
  • Individuals who have affection for Thuyloi University.
  1. Content & Format
  • Theme: “Love the Homeland – Celebrate National Day.”
  • Content: Express love for the homeland, national pride, optimism, and civic responsibility; videos are encouraged to incorporate Thuyloi University’s images and symbols.
  • Format: Short videos (maximum 90 seconds), vertical format suitable for TikTok, with clear audio and visuals. Content must not infringe copyright or violate cultural and ethical norms.
  • Videos must be sent to tiktoktlu1959@gmail.com along with: full name, unit of study/work, contact phone number, student ID (if applicable), video title, and description (under 300 characters).
  • The Organizing Committee will review and post approved videos on the university’s official TikTok channel for scoring.
  1. Prize Structure
    4.1. Individual/Group Category: 1 First Prize, 2 Second Prizes, 3 Third Prizes, 5 Consolation Prizes.
    4.2. Unit Category: 1 First Prize, 2 Second Prizes, 2 Third Prizes, 3 Consolation Prizes.
    4.3. Special Awards:
  • Unit with the highest number of submitted videos.
  • Video with the greatest impact (highest total interaction score).
  • First submitted and posted video.
  1. Scoring Criteria
  2. Judges’ Score (50 points):
    • Clear content and message, relevant to theme (20 points)
    • Creativity and originality (15 points)
    • Video editing techniques and presentation (10 points)
    • Compliance with duration, format, and copyright rules (5 points)
  3. TikTok Interaction Score (50 points):
    • Views (max 30 points): ≥50,000 views: 30 pts; 30,000–49,999: 24 pts; 15,000–29,999: 18 pts; 8,000–14,999: 12 pts; <8,000: 6 pts
    • Likes (max 10 points): ≥3,000 likes: 10 pts; 2,000–2,999: 8 pts; 1,000–1,999: 6 pts; 500–999: 4 pts; <500: 2 pts
    • Saves (max 10 points): ≥500 saves: 10 pts; 300–499: 8 pts; 150–299: 6 pts; 70–149: 4 pts; <70: 2 pts
  1. Implementation
    6.1. Department of Political and Student Affairs
  • Lead unit: develop plan, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Establish Organizing Committee, Judges, and Secretariat; receive and review submissions, compile results, and organize award ceremony.
  • Coordinate with related units for publicity, scoring, and finalizing results.

6.2. Youth Union – Student Association

  • Widely promote contest to all students.
  • Guide student organizations, clubs, and groups in participating and sharing the contest on social media.
  • Appoint contact persons to coordinate with the Organizing Committee (list to be sent to P7 by August 5, 2025).

6.3. Faculties, Centers, and Campuses

  • Disseminate plan and rules to staff, lecturers, students, and alumni.
  • Encourage and facilitate participation.
  • Monitor number of submissions from their units for collective awards and recommend outstanding entries.
  • Appoint contact persons to coordinate with the Organizing Committee (list to be sent to P7 by August 5, 2025).
  1. Timeline
  • Launch & submission period: August 1 – September 20, 2025
  • Scoring & result compilation: September 20 – September 25, 2025
  • Award ceremony: Expected in early October 2025 (as part of the K67 Freshmen Welcome Week events).
